two-year study into head collisions in junior rugby and the potential of World Rugby-sanctioned head gear to reduce impacts. | Sport and Exercise Science New Zealand

SESNZ’s Chair, University of Canterbury Lecturer Professor Nick Draper is leading a study around the design of headgear and what we can do to make it safer for our players.

Nick will be working with Waihora Rugby Football Club‘s Under 16 Boys team and Prebbleton Rugby Football Club‘s U17 Royals Girls team during the season, There will be a team at trainings and games to collect data for the Study.

There is always a cost attached to this kind of research and Canterbury Medical Research Foundation have set up an auction to help raise funds for this study and are hoping to raise $110,000.
