Examining Exercise Behaviour Change Webinar: Motivating the unmotivated
Exercise is widely acknowledged as a vital aspect of general health for people of all ages as well as part of the treatment for many diseases; acute and chronic, injury rehabilitation, mental health, ageing and disability. Yet, with 55% of all Australian adults not meeting the recommended physical activity guidelines it can be challenging to optimise the therapeutic benefit of exercise when clients themselves aren’t ready to engage in exercise. This webinar aims to examine the stages of behaviour change and how it can influence a client’s exercise adherence. As well as explore the skills, such as motivational interviewing, needed to support a client to progress through the stages of change.
